C&R founder Melanie shares her favourite places to eat, drink, shop, and explore across the city.
In our latest city guide, our founder Melanie shares her favourite spots to eat, drink, shop and wander around the Canadian city of Montreal.
It’s only a 7.5-hour flight away, making it an easy long-haul option. I’d recommend visiting in spring or summer to take full advantage of patio dining, parks, and the city at its best. It’s also absolutely doable as a family, with plenty of green spaces and lots of fun things for kids to enjoy.
My favourite areas are Plateau Mont-Royal, Mile End, and St-Henri — all full of great independent shops and restaurants.
I’d also suggest pairing a trip to Montreal with a few extra days in the mountains or the Eastern townships. It’s the perfect balance: the energy and discovery of the city, followed by a slower, more relaxed pace.
I hope this guide inspires you to explore Montréal for yourself, a city that has so much to offer and is often overlooked
